Our Story
The French Honeybee began in the most simple and beautiful way — on our small farm. With milk goats in the pasture, bees humming in the fields, and chickens scratching in the dirt, we started bringing our baked goods to the local farmer’s market. What began as a humble stand quickly grew into something far bigger than we imagined. Week after week, we sold out. And week after week, people asked us the same question: “When are you opening a bakery?”
So here we are.
Nestled near the mountains of East Tennessee, The French Honeybee is becoming the first authentic French bakery in Johnson City, TN. Cecile is truly French — she lived in France until her thirties and grew up in a home where her mother filled the kitchen with traditional French pastries, breads, and desserts. Those early memories, recipes, and techniques are the heart of everything we make.
We care deeply about quality and health. We use only high-quality organic flour, real butter, and thoughtfully sourced ingredients. You will never find seed oils or shortcuts in our kitchen — just time-honored methods, simple ingredients, and the kind of food meant to be savored.
